Finding the right connection is the most important part of therapy. We encourage you to read our team's bios to see who you resonate with, but you don't have to make this decision alone. Our complimentary 15-minute consultation is designed to help with this process. We'll listen to your goals and use our expertise to recommend the best clinician for you.
The first session is about building a foundation of trust and understanding. It's a space for you to share what brought you to therapy, for your therapist to learn about your history, and for you both to collaboratively discuss your hopes and goals for the process. It's less about "fixing" and more about connecting.
Standard therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, as this consistency is most effective for building momentum toward lasting change. Together with your therapist, you will determine the best frequency for your needs.
We believe therapy should be tailored to you. Our therapists are trained in a variety of evidence-based methods and will work with you to determine the best approach for your specific needs and goals. Below are some of the primary methods we use:
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Helps you process and heal from trauma by reducing the emotional charge of painful memories.
• Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): A strength-based, goal-driven approach that helps you move toward meaningful change—often in fewer sessions.
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Supports you in identifying unhelpful thoughts and building healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.
• Trauma-Focused Therapy: Provides a safe, supportive space to process trauma, build resilience, and regain trust in yourself.
• Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCT): Combines talk therapy with mindfulness tools to manage stress, anxiety, or depression.
• Motivational Interviewing: A collaborative, goal-oriented method that helps strengthen motivation and confidence in creating change.
• Family Systems & Couples Therapy: Focuses on relationship dynamics—improving communication, resolving conflict, and restoring connection.
During your initial consultation and sessions, you and your therapist will explore which of these approaches (or combination of them) will be most effective for your unique journey.
Those letters represent a therapist's education, training, and licensure, ensuring they meet high standards for professional and ethical care.
• LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker): A therapist who has completed thousands of hours of supervised, post-graduate clinical training and passed an advanced national exam. This is the highest level of social work licensure for independent clinical practice.
• LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker): A therapist with a master's degree in social work who is licensed by the state and often works under the supervision of an LCSW.
• MSW (Master of Social Work) Intern: A therapist who has earned their Master of Social Work degree and is in the final stage of their training before becoming licensed. They provide thoughtful, dedicated care while working under the close supervision of a senior clinician, which means clients benefit from both their fresh perspective and the guidance of a highly experienced supervisor.
• LPC-a (Licensed Professional Counselor Associate): A therapist with a master's degree in counseling who is completing the final stage of their training toward full, independent licensure. They provide excellent care while working under the direct supervision of a senior clinician.
